"UW-Stout's Bachelor of Science degree in Packaging is the result of two emeriti professors, Dr. Marvin Kufahl and Dr. Art Muller. Together with the involvement of the Society of Packaging and Handling Engineers, the curriculum, laboratories, and partnerships with industry were established. Starting as a concentration within the Industrial Technology program in 1964, it became a stand alone major in 1996.
Over 1000 UW-Stout graduates have benefited from the foresight of the Kufahl-Muller vision of what Packaging education could become. UW-Stout is proud to recognize Dr. Kufahl and Dr. Muller for their leadership and contributions to the Packaging program by dedicating these laboratories in their names."
